Arts Common 118
Arts Common 118
Arts Common 118 is a flagship project that will transform the Alberta Avenue district. This community-driven, mixed use, social purpose economic development initiative will provide artists with the economic benefits of affordable living and work space for production, exhibitions, events and shows, retail opportunities, and more.
Arts Common 118 is a long-held vision of Arts on the Ave Edmonton Society — a project we have been deeply dedicated to for more than 15 years. Rooted in our commitment to Alberta Avenue and the people who live, work, and create here, Arts Common 118 will be a shared community arts hub designed to support creativity, connection, and belonging. This project grows directly out of our decades of experience delivering free, accessible festivals, year-round programming, and artist-led initiatives that bring people together and transform public spaces through the arts.
We are incredibly excited to be moving this vision forward and to be working toward a space that will serve artists, community organizations, and neighbours alike. Arts Common 118 will be a place for collaboration, cultural exchange, and community building — shaped by the people who use it and grounded in the values that guide all of our work.
The current concept includes affordable spaces for artists, retail, market, and exhibition space, a community coffee shop, a 2,000 sq. ft. industrial kitchen, a black box theatre/community event space, and a roof top urban farm.
